The Sundas Foundation has a rich history and has made significant contributions to the healthcare sector, particularly in the field of blood transfusion and treatment of blood disorders. Our Journey
Munnu Bhai (1933-2018) founded Sundas Foundation in 1998 as a blood transfusion centre to treat patients with Thalassemia, Hemophilia, Blood Cancer, and other chronic blood diseases. Munnu Bhai was a newspaper journalist and columnist, poet and a great writer of Pakistan.
Prior to its establishment, commercial blood banks without proper equipment and permission were providing untested and contaminated blood, putting patients' lives at risk. Sundas Foundation's establishment led to the disappearance of these charlatans, providing a safer and more reliable option for patients.
The foundation operates through 10 centres located in major cities across Pakistan, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Islamabad, and Karachi.
Sundas Foundation has provided services to over 7,000 registered patients and has supplied more than 3 million units of screened and healthy blood to individuals and government/private hospitals. The foundation's services have made a significant impact on the treatment of blood disorders, particularly Thalassemia and Hemophilia, and have helped to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
His legacy continues to inspire and influence Pakistani literature, media, and society. He is remembered for his kindness, humanity, and commitment to highlighting social issues through his writing.
